"big enchanted pot of gold" rhythms & sounds
Younger Brother consists of 'Simon Posford' & 'Benji Vaughn' from Twisted Records. They've been together since 2002, & have put out one album in 2003: 'A Flock of Bleeps'. Younger Brother's diverse range of styles and sounds consists of psychadelic trance to atmospheric mid-tempo psy-dub to dreamy downtempo, with an organikly glitchy feel all the way along. Combining sound-lab sequences with real live instruments, they take the listener on an extremely fun, eventful journey with pleasant surprises at every turn.
Their new album, "The Last Days of Gravity" which is set to be released on October 3rd, is a clear window into the groups development and evolution over the years. I've only heard a few tracks from it, however based on what I've heard, and knowing the guys involved, I would easily grant them a five-star rating in advance to the release itself. The new Younger Brother group is now a 7 or 8 piece band with live instruments, including Simon Posford throwing down some trippy stuff on the live electric guitar & synth. Their new album is announced to have a more organik feel as opposed to their first album, yet it is still very rich in psychadelic, mind-bending qualities. Twisted Records has teased us a bit with the release date, but it will be for sure coming out on October 3rd, and can be ordered a week in advance. They have promised a very artistic, clever CD & booklet design, so if you legitimately purchase one CD this year, let it be this one. Enjoy ... ॐ ॐ ॐ
With this album, & Ott's 'skylon', & the highly anticipated "Shpongle 4' coming out within five months of each other, this is a very special time in the advancement of Simon Posford & the crew from 'Twisted Records'
